The Nintendo GameCube was a game console initially released in 2001. It was the first system released by Nintendo to use discs instead of cartridges.
While no standalone Balloon Fight games were made for the system, there were several references to the series within other games.
- Super Smash Bros. Melee (November 21st, 2001) - Propellers (Referred to in-game as Flippers) are available as items that can appear during battles. There are also unlockable trophies of a Flipper and the Balloon Fighter. According to the game's Japanese website, the Balloon Fighter was considered as a possible playable character briefly.
- Animal Crossing (December 14, 2001) - There is an item in the game which allows the player to play Balloon Fight, including an option to download it to a Game Boy Advance using a link cable.
- WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$! (October 17th, 2003) - This game includes the microgame from WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! based on Balloon Fight for the NES.
- Donkey Konga 3: Tabehōdai! Haru Mogitate 50 Kyoku (March 17th, 2005) - One of the songs the player can unlock is the song from Balloon Trip and the Bonus Stages in the NES version of Balloon Fight.
