Jam with the Band is a music game released by Nintendo. It is the only English entry in the Jam with the Band series, and although it is a localized version of Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, it includes songs from the first game, Daigasso! Band Brothers.
This game comes with 50 built in songs which the player can perform either individually or with other players. Each player controls one instrument in the song, and must follow the prompts to play the right note at the right time. Depending on the difficulty level selected, playing the instruments may either be simplified or left entirely in the player's control.
This game was only released in Europe on the Nintendo DS, although originally it was planned to release in North America as well. Since it is largely a localized version of Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, this version was not released in Japan. It has not been re-released.
The references to Balloon Fight from both of the previous games are combined in this game. From the first game, the Famicom Mini Medley returns, although renamed as the NES Classics Medley. This song includes the Balloon Trip/Bonus Stage theme as the second song of the medley. From DX, the instrument trivia section returns, where every instrument the player tries is listed. When the player selects the Marimba, it will play a brief section of the Balloon Trip/Bonus Stage theme.
- The NES Classics Medley was named after the NES Classics line of games, which was similar to the Famicom Mini series. Both were a series of re-released NES games for the Game Boy Advance. Originally, the song was named after the Famicom Mini series because every song in the medley came from a game that was re-released in that series, However, although the name was changed to match the European equivalent, several of the songs featured in the medley were never released in the NES Classics line, including Balloon Fight and Wrecking Crew.
